Country HR Manager

We are looking for an experienced Country HR Manager for Walki!

Your role

In this comprehensive role, you will be responsible for the entire HR function in Finland, harmonizing processes and implementing global guidelines locally. You will lead a team of HR specialists and oversee HR operations across Walki's Finnish sites, ensuring high-quality support for managers and employees while continuously developing HR practices. Beyond strategic vision, the role also calls for a pragmatic and hands-on approach supporting the business and driving HR initiatives into practice. The position can be based in Valkeakoski, Säkylä, or Pietarsaari. Walki's sites are located along the Pietarsaari-Espoo axis.

You bring strong expertise in managing the full employee lifecycle and HR processes in an industrial or manufacturing environment. You will serve as a trusted partner to site and business leaders and help supervisors succeed in their roles. Working closely with Finance and other Group functions, you will contribute to workforce planning, payroll budgeting, and people-related decision-making. In addition, you will ensure that local compensation, benefits, payroll, and HR administration practices support both compliance requirements and business objectives.

The ideal candidate is down-to-earth, collaborative, and flexible. You lead by example and act as a role model in teamwork, interaction, and communication. Safety is a core part of Walki's culture and production environment. While Walki has a separate safety organization, HR plays an important role in supporting and driving the safety culture through example. You are able to see the bigger picture while breaking it down into practical steps, building functional processes and ways of working, and putting them into practice.

We hope our future Country HR Manager has the following qualities and skills:

• At least five years of experience in HR Manager-level roles in an industrial environment

• Borad experience in managing HR processes across the employee lifecycle and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

• Strong knowledge of collective agreements (experience with the paper or chemical industry collective agreements is considered a particular advantage)

• Experience implementing and harmonizing HR practices in a multi-site or international organisation. Experience and understanding of how, for example, M&A and integration processes affect HR's scope of work is considered an asset.

• Solid knowledge of employment legislation, statutory documentation, and local negotiations, along with a track record in co-operation procedures

• Ability to navigate a complex stakeholder environment involving multiple sites, collective agreements, and cross-functional collaboration within a group structure. You understand the demands of a matrix organization and corporate group structure.

• Excellent leadership and people management skills

• Fluent Finnish and English. Swedish language skills are an advantage.
